We play sports.
We  read voraciously.
We are a couple.

For almost thirty-four years there has been…he…I...and we.

  1. I guess it's really true that opposites attract. I like that you did the first verse with 'I and he', and the second 'we'-nice blending, as we all do as couples. And I enjoyed reading about your sons in this previous post. My children too are so different. A friend of mine & I believe that second child appears, looks at the other one & says, I'm going to be "this way"! We see it at school all the time. I can hear the love in all your words, Wanda. Thanks for your family slices!

  2. Such a beautiful last line. Like Linda, I thought it was a great format to start with the I/HE and then move into the WE.

  3. What a gorgeous poem, Wanda.

This reminds me of a song I sing with Isabelle. It's called "Me, You, We." The we is the part that sounds the most melodic, because (clearly) it's wonderful to be part of a "we."
